"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1
I was eight years old and my cousin and I were sitting at the kitchen table, writing our letters to Santa. My dad walked in and announced that he was going out to the garage to, “bring in the gifts.” I was crushed to find out that my dad was Santa Claus.
As a grown-up, I have decided to believe anyway! The spirit of Christmas is all wrapped up in believing. Santa does not give only if we believe nor does he give us everything we ask for. I read a poem that depicts Santa as submissive to God. I like that. In that light, we may look at Santa as one who answers to God and personifies giving of ourselves. One of my favorite pictures is of Santa kneeling at the manger and worshiping the baby Jesus.
There was a time that I thought God's existence was proven and/or justified by what I did or did not receive. I was wrong.
God is God. Truth is truth. God’s word is Truth. The Bible is the written word of God and whether or not we believe does not change the facts.
So ... just believe!
