Water is the world’s most abundant substance, something necessary for survival of even the most primordial organism, yet 1 billion people and children around the world don’t have access to clean drinking water. Everyday 4,100 children die from this preventable cause. In fact, PREVENTABLE waterborne diseases are the 2nd highest killer of CHILDREN UNDER FIVE. What can we do to help? Easy, help support the TAP Project. If you are a restaurant please sign up for it . As a citizen support by donating online or dining at the participating restaurants. You can contact me for more information. The TAP Project was started in New York, in 2007, at just 300 restaurants, and it was based on the simple idea that patrons of these participating restaurants would donate one dollar or more towards the glass of water they could normally enjoy for free. The money would then be channeled to help give children without a reliable source clean, sanitary water. During the week of March 21, 2010-March 27, 2010, the TAP Project will be running in your area. Simply go and dine at one of the TAP Project Participating restaurants located in your area and at the end of your meal, donate one dollar or more towards the TAP Project. Each and every dollar can help, $1 can supply a child with enough water for over 40 days. The TAP Project also gave support in the recent Haitian Earthquake. Providing over 2.6 million liters of water daily. Rohan Sharma dr_rohan70@yahoo.com
