Project Linus is providing blankets for the students at Taft High School for their return back to school on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, NEW, HANDMADE blankets are needed for 900 High School students. Blankets can be made of fleece, cotton or flannel. Afghans are accepted as well. If you would like to make a blanket but do not know how, please come on
Monday, January 14, 2013 from 10a.m. - 2p.m. to our blanket drop off location and we will teach you how to make a blanket. Please bring your own supplies. To make a simple no-sew fleece blanket please bring 2 pieces(1 1/2 yards each) , of matching fleece and a good pair of scissors. If you take the coupon below (or this email) to JoAnns Fabric (on Ming Ave across from the Valley Plaza Mall) they will give you a 10% discount on your total fleece purchase for Project Linus. Project Linus is a nonprofit volunteer organization with a mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade, blankets made by volunteer blanketeers.
