I put flowers on her grave every week; Friday December 12, would have been her birthday. Our lives will never be the same without her, Dorothy Anne Walter will never be forgotten.posted by

I just spotted your story this am when looking at an item a friend asked me to read. I am so appalled that a Judge can just disregard the recommendations that both the DA and Probation Dept. made. I am and HR Manager and I have to do Backgrounds on people prior to them working and it amazes me how many times people get their licenses suspended for one reason or another some very serious and other just out of plain negligence but in this case this is just so unconscionable. Please tell me that he can't drive any more at least. Can we write letters to anyone where judges in this situation are forced to impose a mandatory minimum sentence. Let me know if you have any information and I would be glad to write to anyone so this type of injustice never happens again. posted by

The last comment you left is sweet. I have read so much about her, and everything I've read has been wonderful. I'm so sorry about the way everything turned out. And yes, it's me again. You'll find me here, there and everywhere, I guess. I wasn't purposely looking for you; I just happen to browse this site, too. posted by

Dorothy Anne "Arthur" Walter was loving, outwardly kind, and a dear friend to everyone she knew. She enjoyed sports such as swimming and tennis, winning The Kern County Women's Tennis Championship in 1957, and setting the U.S. record in swimming the medley relay with her two sisters Beverly and Betty. Dorothy swam the backstroke. She was past president of the North Bakersfield Business and Professional Women's Organization. One of Dorothy's passions, researching genealogy, revealed that she was a direct descendant of Lord Baltimore. She loved to find out as much information as she could about family history and lineage. She enjoyed helping others. Using her skills as a genealogist, she reunited people with friends from their past as well as researching the history of their families. We will miss her infectious laugh and terrific sense of humor. Not a day will go by that we won't be thinking of her and all she has done for us in her lifetime. We love you and will miss you forever.posted by

THE KILLING OF AN INNOCENT PERSON. Slap in the faces of the [Dorothy Anne Walter] victim's family; the judge Michael Lewis gave Daniel "Danny" Espinoza five years Probation for the KILLING of Dorothy Anne Walter. This is another sad day for the victim and her family. First, the DEATH of "Dorothy Anne Walter" by Daniel" Danny" Espinoza. Now there is NO Accountability for the KILLING of an INNOCENT PERSON.The family "won," they got their way. Daniel Espinoza gets to go home to be with his family, while the family of Dorothy Anne Walter get to visit her grave. SO...if you BREAK the LAW; STREET RACE at OVER 100 miles an hour on a city street; Drive with your HEADLIGHTS turned OFF In the DARK; Drive WITHOUT INSURANCE; KILL AN INNOCENT PERSON; then injure yourself in the process...you will not be held ACCOUNTABLE in Bakersfield, CA. Why have any LAWS at all? This is the 4th time Danny Espinoza was caught [that I know of] EXCESSIVE SPEEDING.ONE DAY FOR A LIFE!Probation was recommending two years in prison. The D.A. was asking for four, the family was hoping for all six years in prison for the death of their loved one.
