LIBERALS MORE EMOTIONAL THAN CONSERVATIVES
A new poll by the PewResearchCenter says that Democrats are significantly more engaged and emotionally invested than Republicans in this presidential election.

About 56% of Democrats say they will be "angry" if Barack Obama loses the election compared with only 20% of Republicans.

Angry? I drop-dead guarantee you that if Barack Obama loses in 11 days there is going to be serious violence in urban areas.

Now some of you less-educated people out there are going to suggest that I'm saying this because the people engaging in violence will be black. Well, I'll tell you something that many people will not be able to understand.

It won't be race that will bring the disturbances and riots on .. it will be the urban culture of violence. I'm not a racist .. I'm a culturalist. There .. that ought to keep some of you thinking for a while.

Well this is something I have been saying for years ... only this time, people seem to be acting on their emotion.

I remember reading a while ago about a study by Drew Westen, a psychologist and brain researcher at EmoryUniversity in Atlanta?

At an ultra-left wing "Take Back America" convention, Weston presented his theory that Democrats must tap into the emotions of their constituents in order to win them over.

Don't bog them down with the facts. Don't bother explaining to them how Barack Obama's tax policies are going to kill small businesses in this country.

Don't bother telling them the pitfalls of government-run healthcare. Just appeal to their blind emotions ... and you've got their vote.

Meanwhile, on the other side you are getting headlines like this from the mainstream media: "Ugly election incidents show lingering US racism."

Give me a big-time break.

Can't people vote for John McCain simply because they prefer his policies over those of Barrack Obama?  Can someone explain why not voting for Obama is racist?  Had Hillary won the democratic nomination, would McCain supporters then be considered misogynists?  What were Bush supporters called when they preferred him to Al Gore?  Seems to me that making this a race issue is just smoke and mirrors.

First of all if it were the Hildabeast the answer to your question would be yes. But that would come from much less voices. The reason they use race as an issue is "white guilt"... they believe that white people will feel bad about not supporting 'That One." They would be wrong. I believe that us honkeys are going to get pretty fed up the the "R" word over 4 to 8 years and as a result will set race relations back 40 years. This is simply an election tactic at this point but if Obama wins we can expect it to continue for years to come.

In response to the last post, I also voted for McCain, although probably not as quite as proud since I am a Ron Paul supporter.  Nonetheless, as much as I never distinguish McCain by his skin color or race (e.g., I don't call McCain an Irish American running for President) so also is it silly to put Senator Obama's skin color as a qualifier to his presidency.  The fact that so many Americans do this tells me they do see skin color rather than the person - even when they claim to be so proud of the fact of the "First Black President."  Their insistence on this trivial fact reveals their own hidden prejudices. In effect, they are telling the world how surprised they are an American who happens to have darker color skin has become President. I propose we see and talk about Mr. Obama as the 44th American President of the United States, and rebuke those who call him anything else. (His policies on the other hand are fair game)

I told my children that whether or not people voted for or agree with Barack Obama as president, the majority has spoken.  We live in a democratic nation and thus, we must accept that majority rules.  As I've told people recently, you may not like him, but he's OURS, and we must respect the office of President of the United States and the man who holds that position.

Now, if only the No on 8 people would abide by the "majority rules and now we have to live with it" concept.

All I can say is AMEN to that. Holy cow, have you seen the little old lady in Palm Springs that was attacked by a mob of gay activists? Click the link below for true OUTRAGE!

As to Dana's comments on supporting and respecting the office of the president, that went out with President Bush.  As bad a president as Bill Clinton was and as much agita as he brought on himself and the country, no one in my lifetime has received the kind of vitriolic hatred that has been shown to the current President Bush.  The mainstream media and comedy shows did everything they could to systematically destroy everything he did or has done.  They forget they have been safe over the past eight years with no attacks, foiled attacks around the world, what was a booming economy for most of that time (albeit with a growing government which I hate) and the media, and for all their talk about the atrociousness of the Patriot Act in squelching their rights has not seemed to quiet those voices or prevent them from doing and saying whatever they feel.

I now watch as Obama has received the kind of expectant hope not seen since Kennedy who did nothing of significance for this country while President.  Yet, I expect to see Oprah and her ilk fall head over heels for Obama in a grotesque display of ignorant admiration.  What, after all could they base this expectation on for someone who has never held a job that could have even come close to apprising him of the plight of those he so strongly professes to understand and vows to save.

I heard a young man on the news (of the same age that voted for Obama in droves and slammed Bush continuously)  talk about how he expec ts Obama to receive respect because of his office.  Come to think of it, that's the first sentiment I have heard about that office since Clinton.   How convenient.

No matter who we voted for (I voted for McCain by the way) it is our duty to continue to pray for our leaders and this country. We have messed things up enough with our liberal thinking (not mine) but those who want to ok just about anything immoral.  We only have ONE to answer to in the end and  I guarentee you that is coming faster then we think.  Maybe tomorrow maybe next year maybe in 100 years but it will be here and for those that don't believe and want to continue to believe that just going with the flow is the way, more power to you if your right, but if your wrong which I know your wrong you are in for a big awakening.  There is not turning back once the LORD comes back and as God says, WOE to those that are going down that wide road!  The leaders and those that have not located the narrow road are always in my prayers.
