Eating Healthy
Well yesterday my wife and I decided to start watching what we eat. We aren't joining weight watchers, but we are counting points. I've also started logging in what I eat on the website Lisa told me about called fit-day. So for right now I'm logging what I eat in my personal journal and online at the Fit Day website. Tomorrow will be a challenge as I'm going out of town and will probably have to pick up lunch on the road. Hopefully we can find a subway and eat there! It would help if I got back to the gym. I have to confess I've not been back since the blog entry I wrote---uh how long ago was that? Yea, well anyway. Still paying for it, might as well figure out when I can use it, right? But hey, this healthy stuff, you a guy can only handle so much of it at once, right? :-) 2 comments from 2 users

You that there is a FREE online version of Fit-Day, right? Honestly, I've used the programme since I was 15 (22 now) and all it did was turn into an even bigger obsession about what was going into my mouth. I think, truly, you should take a nutrition course and learn portioning. Then you can eyeball anything and say: "Hm, that's about X amount of nutrients." posted by

We are sooo incredibly busy. So meals are here and there and whatever we can get that is fast. I've started grocery shopping for work and keeping a supply of lunch stuff, snacks and even breakfast items in one of my desk drawers and in the fridge here at work. We're also living with my in-laws while we wait for our new house to be finished and dinner is pretty much just whatever they put in front of us. Sometimes it isn't the healthiest of meals. I'm hoping to stock our new pantry with good items. I want to remove all temptation. It's kind of hard not to eat the pint of Ben & Jerry's when it is just sitting there in the freezer calling to you! Being part of a class though has really helped on the fitness side of things. For one thing there is that group atmosphere, plus you feel like you have an obligation to go partly because you are paying for it and also you don't want to let the other people or the instructor down. It also helps to have an instructor to tell you when you are doing an exercise right or wrong, to motivate you and help if you injure yourself (which has been a chronic problem for me).
