The walls didn't fall down!

So I have a gym membership at a northwest gym. I've had it for years, but seldom use it. Last week, my wife says, Why don't you go work out? Instead of blowing her off as I'd done several times before when she offered this suggestions, I took her up on it. That was last week. I worked out three times last week and once this week and the walls of the gym didn't fall down, believe it or not! :0)

Hopefully, I'll be able to keep it up while eating better so I can lose some weight. I have needed to lose weight for almost my entire adult life....but more recently have put on more weight than ever. I attribute that to the stress of having a little one running around the house. I worry about her and instead of doing something healthy to address my worry I eat and eat, and oh yea eat.... Not good! So anyway I have begun working out and hopefully will begin eating well too. We'll see. Keep ya posted on progress.

My husband and I have been trying to be better too. Eating more home cooked meals, taking more walks.

There's a cool little tool that is helpful at www.fitday.com

You can track your progress, monitor your calorie intake, chart your physical activities and keep track of your weight. You can even make a portion of it public. Then you can send the link to people you know and ask them to help remind you of things and keep you accountable.

Way to go in getting back to the gym!
Spring is here and we are all wanting to get back in shape!
I love running and used to put in 4 miles, 3 times a week, before I got pregnant. Had my baby almost 3 months ago and I've only been running once a week. It's been a slow process. Between lack of sleep and answering baby needs, not to mention those of my other two sons and husband, well, process has been slower than expected.
But you got me motivated!

Reading a book, putting together a puzzle, or watching a movie is more appealing to me than kicking a ball at the park or jogging. But now my sedentary tendencies are catching up to me. Too many mornings I can feel how much my body is aging by its stiffness — a guaranteed side-effect of limited physical activity! Now is the time to prepare for the future, right?

The Web site www.fitday.com is really neat and very accessible. Thanks for the tip Lisa! I'm going to try it out and see what it can do! Maybe a running record of my gastronomical intake and physical output will help steer me towards a healthier lifestyle.

I like the site too. Thanks for the tip Lisa. Too bad it doesn't eat and exercise for you though! :-) Oh well, some things I have to do for myself, I guess!

Yeah! That would be great. They'd make a lot of money!
