We were. :) Because He fulfilled a promise, giving us all eternal life. Therefore, we were all raised on that day. Am I right?? :) Your dad sounds like a cool guy. posted by

Matthew 27 (New American Standard Bible) 50 Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. 51 And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth shook and the rocks were split. 52 The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many. The above happened on Friday after Jesus died. This is not to be confused with Jesus’ resurrection on Sunday, He was the first to be 'raptured' or turned into a spiritual being. The ones who came out of the tombs were brought back to life by the power that was released at Christ's death that also tore the temple veil and split the rocks. You could equate it to the resurrection of Lazarus and others that Jesus raised from the dead. A spiritual resurrection requires death... then translation into the new spiritual body. The people in Matthew 27 didn’t come out with their spiritual body, they were just brought back to their natural life. Confusing … but they are different issues. God Bless … Rusty
