Thanks Centennial High School Cheerleaders!
With Thanksgiving coming up, I want to say that I'm very thankful for the Centennial High School Cheerleaders. I am a HUGE fan (Centennial is my alma mater-class of 2001) of Centennial's sports teams and I love going to cheer for them in the stands. I thank the cheerleaders (varsity, JV, and frosh/soph) for their kindness and for keeping up their school spirit despite the tough times Centennial has had with its sports teams this fall. But most importantly, I want to thank them for the spirit bag and autographed megaphone they gave me on homecoming night a couple of weeks ago. That made my night really memorable, despite Centennial's loss to North! The girls have been so nice to me and full of pride. Thanks again girls, and remember, GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!! 5 comments from 2 users

I don't know if many people on this site have gone to many Centennial games, but Bryan is always there, and he's always leading cheers and helping the AWESOME Centennial cheerleaders get the crowd pumped up. I have had the pleasure of meeting Bryan, and there was never a more loyal or devoted fan of any high school. Liberty, Frontier, North... if you ever find a fan as loyal, energetic, and spirited as Bryan, I suggest you spoil him like the CHS cheerleaders have done! Way to go, Centennial cheer and Bryan! Looking forward to seeing you all again during basketball season! posted by

>>Liberty, Frontier, North... if you ever find a fan as loyal, energetic, and spirited as Bryan, I suggest you spoil him like the CHS cheerleaders have done! That's funny, Dana. But you did leave out Bakersfield Christian. I also had the pleaure of going to the CHS powderpuff game last night (the seniors won 30-0). Did you get to go to that? Me having graduated in 2001, I was just rooting for both classes and wishing to see a good game, which I did see! Unfortunately I couldn't get too many notes on the game, otherwise I'd write a good story and submit it. I was too busy rooting for the varsity cheerleaders who were playing in the game! They did wonderful! I even got a couple of pictures after the game. And Dana, I WILL be at the basketball games (and soccer games, too-yeah, I'll risk freezing myself to support Centennial athletics!!!). Are your kids playing basketball? posted by

Hi Bryan, No I couldn't go to the Powderpuff game, but I will be at several of the soccer games this winter! The cheerleaders are GREAT at all the events, that's for sure.

Dana, I'll be at some of the soccer games as well, but don't expect to see the cheerleaders out there too much. I talked to one of them at Dewars today and when I asked her why they don't cheer at soccer games she said she didn't know why they don't. In the past, I have seen the cheerleaders go out to the soccer games just to do a couple of cheers and then go right back into the gym to cheer for the basketball team. Hopefully they'll do that this year. Maybe the issue is that basketball and soccer games are going on at the same time or that it's simply too cold at soccer games. Crowd size is likely not an issue. The crowds at the basketball games has seemed to dwindle so much that I don't think they're much larger than the crowds at the soccer games. But still, they could be out there a little bit more than they are. The soccer fans are just as loyal as the basketball fans at Centennial. You'll see and hear that this year. Now, I just want to see the stands full at both basketball and soccer games at least once this year.
