Musings of this paper's editor
One day I was a writer, the next day I was the editor of the nation's first successful, widespread community journalism newspaper--The Northwest Voice. Writing has always been my passion, and I had contributed upwards of 60 submissions before I became editor. Now, I'm basking in my good fortune and loving every minute of compiling what I believe are masterpieces of unpracticed, non-professional, straight-from-the-heart journalism.

A blog about News, Neighborhoods, and Family & Home.

Hey, what's this new fangled in-box when I sign in??

Greetings, Northwest Voice.com users!

In a few days, you will notice a change to the site when you log-in using your user name.  In the spirit of innovation and incredible technological advancements (grin), you will now be the proud owner of a personal in-box.  I would go into detail about it, but most of you are pretty computer savvy and will have it figured out in no time at all.  For those of you familiar with MySpace or Facebook, this will seem familiar.

Feel free to click around and become familiar with it.  I have had an advanced look at it, and it's very user friendly.  It should not affect anything about your submissions or friends, just makes things a lot more neat & tidy and easier to find.

Enjoy!

Dana

well, normally, i'd be scared of a change, but since you're plugging it, I'll relent. :)

Yes!!  It's the same thing!  I'm glad you are enjoying it over there -- you can be our go-to guy on here if we have any questions.  :)

And I was just going to write to you about your other question, too, but I may as well address it here because I'm sure you aren't the only one receiving that message (for the record, I receive it, too).

"Page not found" -- for anyone who is getting this, it is happening after you send a message to a user.  Rest assured that your message IS still being delivered to its intended recipient, but for some reason, the confirmation page isn't being directed properly.  I have notified our resident Computer Evangelist, and he will no doubt fix the problem magically and shortly.

Is this inbox thing the same thing that's currently on bakersfield.com?  I go on there a lot and have seen the new feature on there.  If this is the same thing, it should be pretty neat.
