Pothole and Coffee Eyeball
Someone help. This blog will exhaust you, first of all. I need you stories for a campaign. I was driving on White Lane on my way to work yesterday morning when my tire happened upon a pothole. This is a particularly nasty pothole, because it's the perfect way to ruin a good mood when I'm whistling on my way to work. I was driving, and stopped whistling a whole block before by way of anticipating my much loathed bump.
I tried to avert the bump. But it was too late. Down went my tire, up went my coffee, out came a few profanities as my eyeball got a fresh taste of coffee. The drop of coffee was so small and ghetto that it must not have gotten sweetener, so I got pure, unsweetened coffee eye (I have had other things fly into my eye, and I swear you can actually taste with your eye. If you doubt this, try a dab of Tabasco hot sauce) I was pretty upset, driving the rest of the way to work with one eye closed like Popeye. And, wouldn't you know it, there were NO RED LIGHTS for me to be able to "STOP" and attend to my eye. Then, I saw the "rainbow" at the end of my rainy experience (imagine it raining coffee): if I could be the spokeperson for others with similar experiences, (no Espresso Eyeball survivors, please.) then I would be happy to lead a march on our state capitol and petition the governor to fix our roads. I know there have been some much-needed repairs, and God bless those city workers. But, we need to repair these potholes. Some needed repairs include: the northbound 99 freeway onramp at Valley Plaza as well as all the culdesacs connected with Castro Lane. Do you have similar stories? Or, do you live on an unincorporated street of Bakersfield(county or Indian land, for example) where repairs are needed? - One-eyed Kevin 1 comments from 1 users

One eyed Kevin! I'm curious to know whatever happened with your campaign? Did you ever follow through and complain? There are many roads that need repairs but of course now three years later with the economy the way it is no repairs will be made or finished in our immediate future!
