Lost in Car Repair Limbo

I have a Repair shop that is driving me nuts. I had my car towed in on February 17th Presidents Day weekend when I had a meeting with a very large Lamp Post. I was banged up a bit but ok. I called the Insurance Company and set up the tow and a rental company to Come get me. I told the Tow Driver that my car wouldn't start. I watched him write it on the Tow order.

On Tuesday after the holiday I spoke to the Service Writer went thru all the details and again told him that the car didn't start. OK it was a three day weekend and the adjustor couldn't get out til Thurs. The dealership never wrote their own estimate and allowed the insurance adjustor to go without getting an estimate or approval for work. No one ever called me. I had to call the following Monday and asked what was going on. "Nothing we don't have anything to work off of" is what I was told. So I call the insurance co. they were a bit bewilder as to why nothing was written from the shop for comparison. To make this the condensed version. My car sat in the shop for over Thirty days waiting for parts. They never even tried to find out why the car didn't start until I starting calling every other day. They tried to tell me it was only out of gas. No it wasn't, I told them it was filled before the accident. Four more days went by before they decided to send to the actual car dealer to see what was wrong. Instead they put the car on a lift and found even more damage, the major being the frame was bent. Approval was given for the frame. They decide to wait for the frame to be deliver prior to sending it out and I had to call the Insurance Co. and say why not fix the engine first so we know if it can be fixed. And the list goes on. I am just so fustrated with the way these shops run at the customers expense. I am now told that with any luck my car will be ready on April 20 - 24. That is Two months and six days worst case, the soonest is the 20th.

This is the second car to go to this shop and I am so angry with their lack of follow thru and the worst is the way they treat me since I'm a female. I am spoken to like my brain doesn't comprehend anything about cars. Is there anyone else who has had to deal with Repair Limbo and Liquid Brain treatment.?
