First day of school (again!) - Musings of this paper's editor - sunnica's Blog - The Bakersfield Voice

Well, here we are again. Last year, when I wrote the story about bidding my kids farewell at the end of the summer, I had an entire year left until I sent my son to high school for his last "first day of school."
Now, it's here and I'm suddenly... OK.
Someone told me a few months ago that the Lord prepares you for your 18-year olds to leave the nest by giving them some rather undesirable qualities. What used to be cute and adorable has morphed into something (or someone) annoying in a matter of one year.
While I'm sad to see another summer vanish... maybe I'm more prepared to see the dawning of another school year.
Check back after Monday morning. Maybe I'm just tired. Tomorrow I'll probably need therapy.

My sister-in-law has been a huge homeschooler advocate. That is until my niece, Hannah, turned three and they adopted another child. Now she can't wait until they are both in school and she can actually get stuff done!
