Hi Tracie -
I agree. Mother's Day is the one day of the year (well maybe one of two--I also thoroughly enjoy my birthday) where as a mother you don't feel guilty about not cooking, cleaning, organizing, and really caring whether or not anything productive is accomplished for the day.
I absolutely love the handmade gifts the kids bring home from school. I simply treasure them--literally. My morning started off with breakfast in bed. I was easy, I just asked for a bowl of cereal. Then when I entered the living room, the kids (with dad's guidance) had spelled out "We love you mom" with the Jenga blocks. It was precious. Of course I plopped down on the floor and we got some photos. My oldest daughter made me a candle encased in a concoction of pinto beans and glue with a pink bow. (You'd have to see it to appreciate it). She also gave me a handwritten "Mother's Day Magazine" where I was the star. She listed my favorite foods as Starbucks coffee and salad...
