The Bakersfield Voice

     I am a human man consisting of two arms, two legs, some internal organs, including a brain and heart. I am a direct descendent of Devendra and Bella Shah, my parents. I have been married for ten years and have two children. My favorite organ is my heart. It is the most mysterious of all the organs. My second favorite organ is my brain, which helps my heart so that I can do things like compose essays and stories. Even poems, which I normally avoid. I am working on my first novel of creative non-fiction, which I am marketing on an informal basis. This means that I read portions in public each month. I have performed at Traveling Poets, a non-prophet organ that circulates poetry from the heart of the world, our poets. There, I shared an open mic with poet Indran Amirthanayagam, a second generation poet who has worked with Alan Ginsburg. I have many interests, too numerous to mention – you guessed my main one! I earned a B.A. in English Literature and minor in business from CSUB. My family, writing, music, and the Lord keep me in balance.
