Greetings, Northwest Bakersfield! Would you like to win an iPod Shuffle?
Your new issue of The Northwest Voice should be in your mailbox today. If you find that you aren't receiving it anymore, you may not be a subscriber. The good news is that starting with THIS issue, all new subscribers are eligible to be entered in a drawing to win a FREE iPod Shuffle. All you have to do is:
- Get the current copy of The Northwest Voice
- Read it from cover to cover (it's really good!)
- Cut out the subscription form on the inside cover and mail it to the address shown on the form.

In February, Voice editor Dana Martin invited a group of longtime contributors and columnists to her home for refreshments and a "gab session" to introduce herself and to get their input. Danish journalist Marianne Due stopped by to observe and ask the group questions on citizen journalism.
Arguably Kern County's winningest husband-wife coaching duo, Randy and Brooke Roberts have a collective 16 CIF Valley championships -- and they did it all with two children in tow!
The Northwest Voice is delighted to read Joe's latest column in the "A Day in the Life" series, where he shares his reasons for now celebrating a second "birthday" every year.
