Before I was editor, I was a community contributor like many of you. As an avid reader of The Northwest Voice, I got accustomed to the stories of certain writers. Now, as the paper’s editor, I still look forward to the exceptional writing of the people you see pictured here.
In February, I invited a core group of community contributors to my home for a “thank you” meeting and to get to know each of them personally in my new role.
Accompanying the writers that night was Marianne Due, a journalist from Denmark, who had traveled to Bakersfield to learn about The Northwest Voice. She observed our meeting then asked our writers many questions she will use to complete her study of the citizen journalism model.
The writers you see pictured here not only make our paper better, but they are incredibly talented and make my job easier, too.
Thank you, community contributors!
