A few weeks ago, I wrote a story about my floppy eared, ball loving, little dog, Drew. He had been missing for a few weeks and writing a story about him was therapy for me. Surprisingly, the day the Northwest voice came out, I received a call from a kind lady named Monica. Her sister had read the article that day and called Monica because she recognized the behavior of this adventurous little Llasa Apso.
In the story, I wrote about how Drew always has a ball on his mouth, even when going to the vet or the groomer. He also has this crazy habit of finding all the balls in the house and dropping them one at a time into the pool. Monica's husband had found a little dog that fit the description. They called him Buster the Stray Dog. According to Monica, the dog had a habit of finding all the balls in the yard, piling them in a corner, and then chasing away all of the other dogs that came near. It just had to be Drew!
Monica e-mailed a picture, and sure enough, "Buster" was my Drew Dog! Drew had been rescued by Monica and her family who operate a dog rescue organization called Safey Dog Rescue. They help dogs in need and have several that need to be adopted. You can view their site at www.safeydogrescue.com
Drew now has a new shiny tag with his name on it, the gate is locked, and he has an appointment for a microchip. Thank you so much to Monica and her family and the Northwest Voice for helping me get my sweet Drew back!
