Community contributor Liane Whitson is at it again with her “What’s on your iPod?” article! Liane created a list of her “must-have” songs, and she encouraged the rest of us to follow suit.

Southwest Voice editor Dana Martin played along, contributing her partial playlist of songs she likes to listen to at the gym:

As mentioned in my original article, there are definitely different "top 10s" to fit different moods. Here's my latest "Gym Top 10"... Gavin Rossdale - Love Remains The Same Where I Stood - Missy Higgins I Miss You - Blink 182 Mercy - Duffy Cobrastyle - Robin The Garden - Mirah Ready, Set, Don't Go - Billy Ray Cyrus Cat and Mouse - Red Jumpsuit Apparatus What I've Done - Linkin Park Hometown Glory - Adele
Top 10 songs on my Ipod Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody Forever the Sickest kids - Shes a lady B 52S - Love Shack Pat Benatar - Love is a Battlefield Family Force 5 - Replace Me Katy Perry - I kissed a girl Sing it Loud - No one can touch us Taylor Swift - Should have said no Carrie Underwood - Last Name Metro Station - Shake it
The Appleseed Cast-"steps and numbers" Kevin Devine-"not over you yet" Kind of Like Spitting-"Old Moon Meets New" Bayside-"They're not horses, they're unicorns" ATB-"Justify Airplay" Ferry Corsten-"Beautiful" The Color Fred-"Hate to see you go" Bright Eyes-"Falling out of love at this volume" Metrostation-"Control" Say Anything-"Baby girl, i'm a blur" AMMMMAAAZZZINNNNNG!
Here's my countdown of the top ten songs of all time from my iPod. 10. Battleflag - Lo Fidelity Allstars This song is irreverent, provocative, and has a great beat. 9. Semi Charmed Life - Third Eye Blind or Breakfast at Tiffany’s - Deep Blue Something I can't decide. 8. Baby Can I Hold You - Tracy Chapman This is a very simple song that is simply beautiful. It’s about regret, forgiveness, and reconciliation. 7. Pink Houses - John Cougar When I hear this song, I think of my parents and what they’ve had to go through over the years to make a living for us. I just feel lucky to live in the good ole U.S.A. 6. Searchin’ My Soul - Vonda Shepard I love the lyrics, the song, and Ally McBeal so this one was my theme song during my reporting days. 5. But Not Tonight - Depeche Mode My sister and I both really like this Depeche Mode song. I like the idea that some rainfall can re-awaken your spirit and renew your lust for life. 4. Cry - Faith Hill I’m a huge Faith Hill fan and “Cry” is one of my favorites. 3. U2 - Running to Stand Still The original album version of this song is so amazing. I think we all have vices that tend to control us from time to time. Whether it be drugs, food, or the television, sometimes we go so far the other way that it’s hard to turn back. No matter how far we run, we’re still running to stand still. 2. Freedom - George Michael This song is my happy anthem. I don’t know what it is about this song that just lifts my spirits. 1. Queen/Bowie Under Pressure The video is incredibly strange, yet visually arresting, but it’s a damn great song. Sometimes you just feel like screaming, but then you realize that we’re all in this together, going through the same fears, frustrations, joys, and heartaches in life. This is ourselves, under pressure.
