Blacks drive 4,000 miles to see many wonders of the Western United States.
Beginning at 4:00 am on June 11, The Black family set out on their first 825 miles to Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM. The next day, they joined their youngest son, Jonathan, at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs to watch him swim in a meet and to tour the Academy. Two Days later it was north and east into South Dakota to visit Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore. The next day we visited Devil's Tower (Close Encounters of the Third Kind) in Wyoming. The next morning it was off to visit Custer's Battleground in Montana on the way to Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Tetons. They spent a couple of days in Jackson Hole at the Cowboy Inn Resort in the log cabins while touring the parks. where Tthey saw all kinds of wild life and "Old Faithful" the geyser erupted and cooled us off with the mist. Finally a drive through Utah, Arizona, and Nevada for a last night in Las Vegas and return home. Many natural wonders and a lot of miles later, they were glad to be home!
