Greetings, Northwest Voice readers & contributors!
With the addition of so many new Web site users (welcome, by the way!), I think it's time to explain again why I write this newsletter. Twice a month, I will send you an email reminder for our upcoming issue. In it, I will also share information about upcoming events, contests, or opportunities to participate in theme issues (pets, senior citizens, bicycling & politics have been recent themes).
This is that reminder. So, without further ado, here's the info:
To have your stories, photos, announcements, or celebrations considered for the November 5th issue, please submit them to the Web site no later than:
Tuesday, October 28th at 7:00 p.m.!
If you can't find the new issue in local rack locations, I'm very sorry about that. There seems to have been a problem with our delivery last week. It should be fixed quickly, but to ensure that you always receive the newest issue of The Northwest Voice, simply go to the Web site and subscribe today! It's always free!
Now, for the FUN stuff. Have you seen the new issue?
We the People: Politics in 2008
Another of our fun theme issues, this time we put out a reader call to submit thoughts and ideas about the upcoming election, economic status, or voting in general. As you will see in our cover story, Centennial High School gets their students involved with the political process in their senior year with We the People. Read how their senior government class has a civic education element that ROCKS the country!
**In December, The Northwest Voice will be running a "community service" theme issue, which will also kick off our first ever "Northwest Voice Gives Back" community service of our own! Stay tuned for that info!. In the meantime, please begin thinking of organizations or events you may want recognized in the pages of the NW Voice, because the reminder for THAT issue is only 2 weeks away! Time flies!
Also, if you haven't been to the Web site lately, The Northwest Voice blogs are hopping with opinions and chatter about the upcoming election. Join your neighbors in the blogs today!
That's all for tonight! As always, if you ever have any questions or comments, or if you've forgotten your NW Voice user ID or password, please feel free to email me. I am always around, and I will usually get back to you within the day.
All good things,
Dana (Northwest Voice editor)
