Did you name your GPS?
So ... let's hear it. Did you name your GPS? You know you did! Some are made by Garmin, some are Magellen, TomTom, but you undoubtedly have a name for your system.
Ok, so let's hear her (or his!) name, and the story behind why you chose that name.
Mine's name is Judy.
My son and I were in Cape Cod in line for our rental car, late to an event, and sweating the fact that were in an unfamiliar state and had no idea where we were going. When the rental car agency asked if we would like to rent a GPS, I said YES and we left.
We set the address and were on our way, and when the pleasant female voice told us we were heading in the right direction, Jarret said, "Thank youuuuu, JUDY!" -- exactly the way Tim Allen said it to the waitress in "The Santa Clause" movie. I laughed so hard that from that moment on, all GPS units were called Judys.

I have a gas guzzling man of SUV. I thought that it must be difficult for my manly SUV to always be so masculine and tough. So he needed a girlfriend to soften him up. The built in GPS system became his girlfriend. Her name is Shelley. Shelley has on occasion been wrong on directions. But she is fairly reliable and I like her company too.
Over the summer I was visiting my sister in Texas. She had a GPS which at the time wasn't named. All week, we listened to her as she lead us to Dallas, or the zoo , or the aquarium, you name it. On one road trip I finally decided she sounded like Joan Rivers. Thus her name is Joan. :)
We set ours to the "British accent" and named him Thomas. We took Thomas (always said by either of us in a clipped British tone) with us to France in the spring and he was a lifesaver on those winding country roads. At a B&B in the Loire Valley, we were chatting one night with an older Aussie couple. They were telling us how bad they'd been arguing because of the driving situation ("She can't read a map"... "I hate these roundabouts!"). The couple asked how we'd been faring on the roads; our reply was that Thomas had helped us so much. The funny part: they thought we had a personal driver! I almost didn't want to correct them, hehe...
Thomas has helped us countless times!
My friend and I are both on the same travel team in Santa Maria, so every Sunday we drive three hours to practice.
They have a GPS and her name is Gracie. I get in trouble a lot because I say Gracie is crazy and doesn't know where she is going. My friends mom hugs the GPS and says "SHHHH. SHE WILL HEAR YOU". They joke that when you say that, Gracie gets made and deflates the tires because one time she threw it down and then their "Check Tire Pressure" light came on.
