About DanaMartin
Greetings! First, God Bless America and THANK YOU to our troops! Next, I'm Dana, and I was the proud Editor of The Northwest Voice before it went out of publication on December 31, 2008. I'm a wife of 20 years (!!!) and a mother of three. I've lived in Northwest Bakersfield all of my life and graduated from North High School (go Stars!) I have my B.A. from CSUB (go Runners!), and creative writing is my passion. I've been published seven times writing contemporary romance for a national magazine, but my real interest is in editorial writing and historical romantic fiction (think 17th century Europe). After college, I spent some much-needed time with my family, then dabbled in substitute teaching. When I was given the opportunity to become editor, however, of a publication I have supported and loved as a contributor like YOU for the last several years, I couldn't pass it up! "If you find a job you love, you'll never work a day in your life." My interests? I love to read and go to movies. I also like running, BASEBALL (go Red Sox!), camping, and Starbucks. Again, thank you to all of our troops overseas, who may be reading the NW Voice hoping to get news of home. I wish you well and pray for your safe and speedy return. A friend recently showed me this quote, and I think it bears repeating: What Is A Veteran? A "Veteran" -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America," for an amount of "up to, and including his life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today, who no longer understand that fact. User Name: DanaMartin

Hi Terri -- My "friends" list, as well as all the articles and blogs I wrote, went away when the company locked my profile. I'd had that profile since 2004, long before I was the editor, but for some reason, my original profile is now company property. :( I had to create a new one.
