The Bakersfield Voice

Aloha, I currently teach hula at the NOR Riverview Center on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30pm.   We perform to bring awareness to foster children and their families.  I am a former foster child and now a mother of five, married 33 years and first time grandmother to Elliott.  I am so blessed to have had wonderful foster parents and a social worker that went the extra mile to keep our family together.  I am a Past Madam President for the Fraternal Order of Eagles on 17th/H St.  I help raise funds for charity through this organization.  I have chaired fundraising events for the international Jimmy Durante's Children Fund for abused children, children with childhood aids and other educational needs here locally.
